Bangkok + Cambodia Trip

Bangkok:
extremely hot
great shopping at MBK
(Architecture) 
heavily ornamented   
polychromatic
most of their temples consist of great golden spires
golden images of buddha 
sloping multi-tiered roofs

Cambodia:

not as hot as Bangkok (breezy)

intricate rock carvings

big temples

some have been abandoned and taken over by monkeys (no kidding)

angkor wat = sublime

Rhythm

For our finals in our Design Principles class, we were asked to create a pavilion model (that would blend with our building, the SDA, if it were to be built in front of it) with the assigned concept of rhythm. In rhythmic architecture, there must be a harmony of form and pattern. There must also be a sense of motion and direction.
